Flagship series
Critically-acclaimed, visionary projects presented at London’s Southbank Centre.
Since 2008, under Esa-Pekka Salonen and other key conductors, the Philharmonia has created a succession of critically-acclaimed, visionary projects at Southbank Centre, distinctive for both their artistic scope and supporting live and digital content. Our flagship series have won awards, most recently the South Bank Sky Arts Award (2017, for Stravinsky: Myths & Rituals), for their focus on a composer, place or period in time as the basis of deep exploration of music and its cultural context.
“[Esa-Pekka Salonen] is one of the UK’s greatest musical assets – words not said lightly”
Fiona Maddocks, The Observer
