Tutti Double Bass

The Philharmonia Orchestra is seeking to appoint positions in our Double Bass section. 

Successful applicants will be invited to an audition consisting of the following:

  • 1st movement of a classical concerto (without a Cadenza) & another contrasting piece of own choice
  • Orchestral excerpts (to be provided at offer of audition)

*One round of auditions – not screened

*Accompanist will be provided

*A = 440

Closing date: Friday 28 October 2022
Audition dates: 16th – 19th December, at Philharmonia Offices, Chancel Street, London.

Executive Administrator – CEO and Executive Team

Philharmonia is seeking a bright and confident, well-organised administrator to support the CEO and Executive Team in their role as leaders, by supporting with project liaison, research, and diary management, ensuring the senior team are acting efficiently, with their time optimised.

Ready to fast track your career in concerts or general management for an orchestra, this high-profile role will suit an ambitious music or arts administrator, who really knows and is passionate about orchestral music. This is a phenomenal opportunity for the right individual who is ambitious, proactive, and self-motivated – gaining insight into all aspects of senior orchestral management.
You will be able to evidence skills at problem solving, project work and relationship management and must show discretion and tact when dealing with matters of a confidential nature. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong technical music knowledge.
Working in a fast-paced, busy environment, the Assistant will have the ability to think outside the box and provide effective solutions.
The role will be full time in our Southwark Office in London, with regular attendance at Concerts and Donor Events.

  • Contract: 12 month fixed term contract, Full-time
  • Salary: £25,000
  • Location: London Office – 6 Chancel Street, London, England, SE1 0UX

Required skills

  • Graduate level with 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • It is preferable that you have an arts background, either having studied arts administration /music /management or have experience working in an arts organisation
  • Experience carrying out programme, artist and music industry research
  • Confident in report writing and presenting is essential
  • A basic understanding of public funding reporting (we are a National Portfolio Organisation supported by Arts Council England)
  • Good knowledge of artists, music industry and repertoire
