Groups & Schools
We offer group discounts on our London and Bedford season concerts. For discounts on other concerts, please see the venue’s website.
Adult groups
Groups of ten or more get a 25% discount, and one free ticket for every 20 purchased.
School groups
Groups of ten or more get a 50% discount, and one free ticket for every ten purchased.
You can make a reservation for your group, and confirm final numbers and pay one month before the concert.
Group discounts are available online, but to get your free ticket(s) you need to book by phone. Please call 0800 652 6717, 9.30am – 1 pm, Monday to Friday.
For our Christmas concerts (London, 9 & 12 December) co-promoted with Raymond Gubbay Ltd, all groups get 20% off, and no free tickets.
Families & Children
The whole family can come to concerts with significant reductions in ticket prices for young people aged 18 years and under.
London’s Southbank Centre
Tickets for children and young people aged 18 and under are £10 (£8 in the lowest priced areas of the hall), excluding premium seats. A maximum of four 18-and-under tickets are available per concert per transaction (limited availability).
Please note that 18-and-under tickets are not available for subscription discounts. This discount does not apply to our Christmas concerts (9 & 12 December).
Bedford Corn Exchange
Each adult attending a concert can purchase up to 2 tickets for under-16s for half price.
Age recommendations
Philharmonia Orchestra concerts are usually suitable for children aged 7 and older. Children under 6 may not be admitted at the discretion of the orchestra and hall management. Please contact us if you need additional guidance. Family tickets are not available online.

LONDON
A limited allocation of tickets is available with a 25% Discount for recipients of Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support, Pension Credit, under-18s and full-time students. Appropriate proofs of eligibility are to be shown. Tickets are sold on a first-come-first-served basis, and once the allocation has been sold, no further tickets are available by any method of booking.
Students
Please note that students can also book for most concerts for our London Season through the Student Pulse website/app. Tickets are £8 or less for best available seats. Student Pulse tickets are only available a month or less ahead of each concert.
BEDFORD
A limited allocation of half-price tickets is available for recipients of Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Under-16s and full-time students. Appropriate cards to be shown.

LONDON SEASON
Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall offers world-class facilities for people with disabilities.
Visitors with a disability are invited to join Southbank Centre’s free Access List. By registering you may be eligible for tickets at concessionary prices, to bring a companion whose ticket is free who can assist you during your visit, to receive information in alternative formats etc.. For the hard of hearing, the auditorium is fitted with Sennheiser infra-red systems. Hearing enhancement equipment can be collected at Royal Festival Hall Ticket Office, Level 5 Function Room and The Clore Ballroom.

Level Access and Booking for Wheelchair Users
There is level access throughout the Royal Festival Hall from the internal lifts (some of the lifts have a limited weight capacity; please call 0844 875 0073 to confirm), and there are wheelchair spaces in the boxes, choir seats, side and rear stalls of the auditorium. Tickets for wheelchair spaces can be booked by phone at the Philharmonia Orchestra Box Office, FREEPHONE 0800 652 6717.
Subscription discounts are also available for wheelchair users.
Southbank Centre has a number of wheelchairs for visitors to use, subject to availability. If one is required please request one on arrival at the Artist’s Entrance.
BEDFORD SEASON
There are four spaces available for wheelchair users. They cost £14 and include a free ticket for a companion. Disabled patrons who do not require a wheelchair space are eligible for an additional free ticket if they require a companion to assist them during their visit.
Bedford Corn Exchange is equipped with an induction loop system, designated wheelchair seats for performances, a disabled lift from ground level to the interval bar and disabled toilets. Please indicate at the time of booking whether you require a designated wheelchair space. Guide dogs permitted with prior notification. Please call 01234 718044 if you require further information about the venue.
Returning tickets
Returns policy
If you are unable to attend a concert because you are isolating due to Covid, please let us know as soon as possible before the concert and we will refund your tickets.
If you need to return your tickets for a different reason, please call the ticket office at least 2 working days before the concert. We can exchange them for either a Credit Voucher, or tickets for another concert. The ticket office is open from 10am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. You can also contact us by email at boxoffice@philharmonia.co.uk. There is an administration fee of £1 for each returned ticket.
Booking Tickets FAQs
Can I book tickets for all Philharmonia concerts through the Orchestra's website or box office?
No. We only sell tickets directly for our seasons at London’s Southbank Centre and Bedford’s Corn Exchange. All other ticket purchases can be made through our partner venues, and links are provided on each event page.
Is there a transaction fee?
Yes. A transaction fees is charged for each transaction and not per ticket.
For the London Season, the fees are:
- £2 for online bookings
- £3 for telephone, email and postal bookings
For the Bedford Season, the fees are:
- £1.75 for online bookings
- £2.75 for telephone, email and postal bookings.
Philharmonia Friends do not pay transaction fees when booking through the Philharmonia for London and Bedford concerts. Find out more and join here.
What credit/debit cards do you accept?
We accept American Express, Mastercard, Visa, debit and credit cards.
How are currencies other than UK Pounds handled?
If you normally receive your credit or debit card statement in a currency other than UK Pounds, your credit card company will convert the transaction into your own currency on your statement.
Can I book my concert tickets at any time?
Yes, this is a 24 hour booking system. Please note that online booking closes 90 minutes before the start of a concert. After that time, bookings can still be made on the telephone on +44 (0)20 7960 4200 (for Royal Festival Hall) or +44 (0)1234 718 044 (Bedford Corn Exchange) and in person up to the start of the concert at respective venues.
The Philharmonia box office (FREEPHONE 0800 652 6717) is open on weekdays from 10am – 5pm.
How do I know which password to use?
When you have selected the concert or concerts you would like to book, you will be asked to log in. If you have never booked for anything on the Philharmonia Orchestra website before you will need to register as a new user. Follow the easy steps.
If you have used the Philharmonia Orchestra website to book tickets before enter the email address and password you used last time. If you cannot remember your password you can choose to have a new one sent to you via email.
If you have used the Southbank Centre website (www.southbankcentre.co.uk) before, enter the email address and Southbank Centre website password you last used.
What do I do if something goes wrong when I'm using the online booking/ticket purchase/donation system?
Please send us an email including the following information
- Where you are using your computer? (eg at home, at work, in college)?
- The operating system you are using. (eg Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista)
- The browser you are using. (eg Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari)
- If known, the version of the browser you are using. (eg Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3)
- A description of what happened when you tried to use online booking.
- Details of any error messages you received (and a screenshot if you know how to do this).

Is the Philharmonia Orchestra's online booking system secure?
Making bookings or donations or renewing your membership on this website is easy and secure. There are no documented cases of credit card fraud using our website.
Can I purchase CDs and DVDs online?
Yes. Select the Buy/Stream menu at the top of the home page. You can purchase The Orchestra app via the Apple App Store, and downloads of our recordings via iTunes. Philharmonia Orchestra CDs, DVDs, and blu-ray discs are also available through this site by using the links to buy from amazon.co.uk. These links take you directly to our shop pages on amazon.co.uk, so your order is fulfilled directly by the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Can I become a Friend of the Philharmonia Orchestra online?

Can I renew my Friends membership online?

Do you have conditions of sale?
Yes
- Ticket holders will comply with all statutes, regulations, safety announcements and venue requirements.
- For ticketed events every member of the audience or exhibition visitor must have a valid ticket.
- We do not take any responsibility for any ticket that is lost, stolen or destroyed.
- The Philharmonia Orchestra and event promoters are not liable for any personal travel, accommodation or hospitality arrangements made relating to an event or the cancellation of an event.
- Latecomers – admission is not guaranteed although offered wherever possible.
- Ticket holders consent to the recording and filming of themselves as members of the audience.
- The Philharmonia Orchestra reserves the right to refuse admission or attendance to any patron.
- The Philharmonia Orchestra and event promoter reserves the right to make any alterations to an advertised programme rendered necessary by unavoidable causes.
- For concerts at Southbank Centre and the Bedford Corn Exchange, tickets may be returned for a Credit Voucher valid for 1 year or exchanged if received by the Philharmonia Ticket Office up to 48hrs before the performance. Refunds are only available if you are unable to attend because you are isolating due to Covid.
- An administration charge will apply. For other promotions, no refunds are available.
- Tickets must not be re-sold for profit or commercial gain or by any outlet other than the Philharmonia Orchestra, our partners venues or a recognised ticket agent. Failure to comply will make this ticket void.
- Cameras and recording equipment are not allowed in the auditorium. You may bring in a bottle of water with a lid, but no other food or drink may be consumed in the auditorium. Drinks from the bar are allowed in Music of Today concerts.
- Babes in arms cannot be admitted to Philharmonia Orchestra concerts, unless expressly advertised.
- Mobile phones and watches should be silenced before entering the auditorium.

Can I use a credit voucher to purchase my tickets?
Not online, but you can do so by calling our box office at 0800 652 6717 (9.30am – 3.30pm, UK time).
How long is my credit voucher valid for?
Credit vouchers are valid for one year.

How many tickets do I need?
You only need to buy one ticket per device used to watch the stream. If there will be more than one person watching the concert in your household, please consider buying a Standard+ ticket for £20 or a Subscription+ for £36. The viewing experience is the same as a Standard ticket.
I bought a ticket, but I didn't get a link – what do I do?
If you didn’t get your confirmation email, check your spam folder. Also check that you are logged into the correct inbox (in the email account you used to purchase the ticket).
Your confirmation email is just a receipt of the transaction. On the day of the concert(s), you will receive a separate email with your viewing link.
I lost my confirmation email – what do I do?

How do I watch the performance?
Two days before the premiere, you will receive an email with joining instructions. Then, shortly before the premiere begins you will receive an email with a link to the performance.
Is this a live performance?
No, the performances are filmed as if live, but were captured shortly before the premiere date.
Can I pause the performance?
Yes, you can pause, and move backwards or forwards, at any time in the performance.
How long is this on sale for after the premiere?
Concerts are available for purchase for three months after the premiere.
Can I watch more than once?
Yes, as many times as you want for 30 days.
If you bought your ticket for the premiere, you can watch for 30 days after that.
If you bought your ticket after the premiere, you can watch for 30 days after the date you purchased your ticket.
How do I watch on a smart TV?
If you have Chromecast, or a smart TV which allows you to cast videos, we would recommend accessing the stream on your phone, and tapping the ‘cast’ icon to stream to your TV.

Is there an app for Apple TV or Android TV?
No.
How do I cast this from my phone/tablet?
- Open the video page in Google Chrome on your device.
- On the video page, tap on the player so that the player controls appear on the screen. If Chromecast is available, the icon will appear on the bottom right of the player.
- Tapping this icon will open the Cast to Tap on the desired Chromecast destination to start casting the video to your TV.
How do I turn on subtitles?
Select the CC icon in the lower right corner of the player.
NB: While casting on your smart TV, subtitles can be controlled directly within the player in the mobile browser. They cannot be controlled on the TV screen.
How do I adjust the volume?
Hover the cursor over the video to make the controls visible. The volume controls are on the bottom right-hand corner.
Stream looks good but I can't hear anything.
Check the volume controls on the lower right corner of the player. Check the volume on your device, and if watching on a smart TV make sure it is not on mute.
How do I watch from outside the UK?
This broadcast is available internationally, with the exceptions of the People’s Republic of China and Indonesia.
I’m having trouble watching on Internet Explorer.
Unfortunately, Internet Explorer is not supported. Please try watching on Chrome or Firefox.
The video quality seems low, and the playback is jerky/slow/lags, what do I do?
Make sure you have a fast and stable internet connection. Check that no-one in your household is downloading or streaming other content.
If that’s not the case, it can help to swap browsers: if you are watching on Internet Explorer, try Chrome or Firefox.
If the problem persists, manually switch the quality of the video playback to a lower quality, by clicking the gearwheel icon in the lower right corner of the player.

Arriving at Southbank Centre
To prevent crowding in the foyers at Southbank Centre, they are admitting visitors at staggered arrival times.
Please have a look at your e-ticket for the auditorium door you should use. Once you have this, find your external door and arrival time from the table below:
- Level 3 Door A, use Southbank Centre Square Doors, arrive 45 minutes before
- Level 4 Door B, use Southbank Centre Square Doors, arrive 30 minutes before
- Level 5 Door C & D, use Southbank Centre Square Doors, arrive 20 minutes before
- Level 6 Door E & F, use Southbank Centre Square Doors, arrive 15 minutes before
- Level 3 Door G, use Mandela Walk Doors, arrive 45 minutes before
- Level 4 Door H, use Mandela Walk Doors, arrive 30 minutes before
- Level 5 Door J & L, use Mandela Walk Doors, arrive 20 minutes before

If you’re unable to queue, or need step-free access, please enter via the right-hand side of the Southbank Centre Square Doors, Level 1.

The health of visitors and staff remains our top priority, and Southbank Centre will continue to keep procedures in place to ensure your visit is as safe as possible. This includes an advanced cleaning regime, such as regular cleaning of touch points like lift buttons and door handles, fogging in areas of high use, 100% fresh air throughout the Royal Festival Hall and regular CO2 readings.
Out of respect for our staff and visitors, we ask that you continue to wear face coverings inside the Southbank Centre. You can collect an exemption badge from the entrance if you are unable to wear a mask. Staff are working hard to keep the site open for visitors, and we ask you to socially distance from them.

What if I have Covid symptoms and need to cancel?
Please, stay at home if you have symptoms of illness such as a cough, sore throat or fever or have been in contact in the past 14 days with someone who has coronavirus. You can email us up to two working days before the event for a refund or credit note.
